Jaime Frugé-Walne....

a native Houstonian, is a choreographer, performer, and educator who creates interactive and co-creative performance experiences. Her choreography has been presented at CounterCurrent Festival’s Ten Tiny Dances, Houston’s Fringe Festival, and Sam Houston State University. She has had the pleasure of serving on Frenetic Theatre’s Artist Board where she produced her first evening length work titled Integration. Jaime fuses choreography, theatre, costume and production design to curate site specific performances and immerse audiences and performers inside an intimate performance environment ripe with interaction and co-creation to promote social change.

She holds a MFA in Dance from Sam Houston State University and BA in Theatre from the University of Southern California. She is a graduate of Houston’s High School for Performing and Visual Arts and trained at the Houston Ballet Academy and Joffrey Ballet School New York City. Jaime has worked with notable choreographers such as Bliss Kohlmeyer, Luis Fuente, Jesse Zarritt, Kira Blazek, Jane Weiner, Margot Marshal, John Brinkman, Janie Carothers, Dana Nicolay, and Jennifer Pontius. In addition to her own artistry, Jaime supports the dance community through development, public relations, and programming. She serves as Artist Liaison and Development for The Dance Gallery Festival, an international dance festival with programming in New York and Texas, and is the Director of Programming for NobleMotion Dance, a Houston based contemporary dance company critically acclaimed as "Houston's Best Dance Company" by the Houston Press. 

Jaime teaches ballet, modern, jazz, dance composition, and Pilates. At Sam Houston State University, she developed a non-majors Seminar in Fine Arts course where she collaborated with other art areas to educate general education students about the world of dance. She created and developed the YES Prep Public School’s Southeast Campus Dance Department where she influenced and inspired a young generation of movers. Jaime is a Balanced Body certified Pilates instructor in both Mat and Reformer. She has worked extensively with the Dance Department at Sam Houston State University and has studied under master teachers such as Betty Nicolay, Jill Gilbert, and Nanci Patch.

In addition to dance, Jaime worked as a costume designer and stylist for the music industry. In Los Angeles, she worked on countless music videos, advertising campaigns, and world tours with artists such as Gwen Stefani, Mary J. Blige, Faith Hill, Jennifer Lopez, and Sean Combs. Her design and production experience has greatly influenced her work as a choreographer and movement artist.
